The crash took place around 10:54 a.m., Monday, June 7, at the intersection of East Street and Newell Street in Pittsfield, said Lt. Michael Maddalena of the Pittsfield Police.
An investigation found that Stanley Dipietro, age 65, of Pittsfield, was driving a 2013 Harley Davidson east on East Street, when he entered the intersection with Newell Street, and collided head-on into a 2002 Honda CRV driven by Susan Shepardson, age 78, also of Pittsfield, who was turning left on Newell Street.
Action Ambulance transported Dipietro to Berkshire Medical Center, where he later died.
Shepardson and her passenger Bruce Shepardson, 86, of Pittsfield, were also taken to Berkshire Medical Center for injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, Maddalena said.
The Pittsfield Police Traffic Unit is investigating the collision.
